What would cause PC monitor to flicker wildly until warm?
« on: July 13, 2004, 08:26:38 am »
I have a 21" hitachi 802 and on first start, it flickers like a madman for like a minute or 2, then runs fine the rest of the day.  What components would cause this behaviour?  Could it be as simple as bad caps?
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Yup, bad electrolytic caps or a bad solder joint on one of them. I say you've got some bad caps.

I guess I'll have to crack the case sooner than I planned on this thing.  i was so dreading downgrading from the 21" back down to a 15"  :'(  I guess that will be motivation to fix it faster...

thanks ken!
