head to head spinner games?
« on: July 11, 2004, 06:55:35 pm »
i have chance of getting 2 spinners and thinking about fitting them to the cocktail cab that i am currently making.

i am wondering if there are any games that use a spinner at both P1 and P2 positions to allow head to head games to be played?

i dont mean games that flip between p1 and p2 ( i assume 2 player arkanoid would do that - if supports cocktail cab mode).

are there any games that allow p1 and p2 to actually play against each other at the same time using spinners? such as the old style pong games that used to connect to TV for example. hopefully there are some more advanced games also?

Warlords (4-player).

Warlords is a actually paddle game, but I believe does work well with spinners...

Blasteroids uses 2 spinners simultaneously...not head-to-head as such (co-operative).  Great game :)

I can't think of any others atm, bar 360degree steering wheel games which play well with spinners (Super/Champ Sprint, Badlands, Super Off-Road etc).

If we are getting into wheels, there are several......

sprint coming to mind first.  It actually has an 8 player version just for a cocktail-like rig.

I'm pretty sure Puchi Carat is a dual spinner game.

It might be possible to play some of the head-to-head vector games which used buttons for rotation (e.g. Armor Attack, Rip Off) using a spinner.
MAME Projects % completed:
2004 3 sided cocktail cabinet w/ modular CP <25% (discarded)
2004 Tempest cabinet & CP > 75% (sold)
2017 Raspberry Pi Zero W w/ Lakka microconsole 50%
2021 Vertical Bartop - in progress > 80%, 100% functional (sleeping)

I don't think you can map mouse directions to digital inputs...

Incidentally, can anyone get Warlords controls to work?  I can't seem to get even keys to work  ???
