game instruction program
« on: July 04, 2004, 10:45:53 pm »
has anyone created (or in the process of creating) a program that tells the user the intructions to most of the games in MAME? i tried searching for something on this site and couldn't find anything. i would like to know so i can decide whether to spend my time trying to build one or so i can see if my attempts would come nothing close to what has already been created. also, would anyone want to use this program in their cab if i built it besides me? if anyone thinks i should go ahead and try to create it i would appreciate any suggestions you have, be they towards the name and what should be included in it or anything else.

You pretty much have this from controls.dat and the Johnny5.exe viewer program:

ah ok. i'll probably create my own anyway, just for the programming practice. by this i do not mean any insult to the programmers of controls.dat and Johnny5. my own program will probably never reach the level of Johnny5, anyway. thank you for pointing this out to me.
