Which games were 25K?
« on: July 02, 2004, 11:29:33 pm »
Hey, which games (at least which popular ones) used medium resolution monitors (25Khz).  I have a wells gardner d9200 and am considering getting an arcadevga but the arcadevga does not support 25Khz.  Just would like to know what I would be missing.

Some Atari games: Paperboy, 720, Super Sprint, Champ. Sprint, Toobin & APB.

Some others too, maybe Popeye...

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that marvel vs capcon 2 damn well LOOKS like its medium res.

anyway, all Sega model 1, model 2 and model 3 games were medium res. All Naomi games (not emulated) some CPS 3 games (not emulated either). A bunch of old atari games, then there are the tricky ones like gauntlet legends which can be either (but standard res looks pretty nasty)

These are all the medium res games I could come up with. I sure you can use the filters in winmame to get them all.

Gardius IV
Hard drivin'
badlands
Sega Rally 2
war gods
Hydro thunder
paperboy
indy 500
Zero guner
Zero gunner 2
Zero point
Zombie revenge
Daytona
Daytona 2
Sonic blast man
Virtua Striker
Virtua Striker 2
Virtua figher and sequels
VOCT and VOOT
Virtua cop
18 wheeler
Vampire night
Star wars arcade
Star wars racer arcade

There is a utility at Ultimarc's site to allow the AVGA to use extra modes for the D9200...not 100% if that includes 25khz modes, but I guess it should.
