HElP: MAME running off-centre
« on: June 30, 2004, 03:20:18 am »
Hi,

I was just having some trouble with MAME not running centered in my 17" monitor.

I'm using the default settings (for mame) and things were running fine, but for some reason most of the games now run about 2cm to the left... esp. the Neo Geo games.. thus cutting off that amount of video, with black video on the right.
MAmewah and windows have no problems...
I can solve this by manually adjusting the horizontal screen position of the monitor but then when exiting to mameWAH/Windows the screen is off-centre (to the right).

this is because mame is changing the resolution from what your desktop is to what it thinks is the best for the game in question.  You could specify the resolution for the game to use to be the same as Windows resolution you are using and you won't have any screen shifting.

Thanks, it's working fine after putting in the resolution.

It's just interesting that MAME runs fine with the 'auto' setting on my main PC, and was running fine in my cab until last week... I must have tinkered with something  :D

Thanks again.
