Mamewah Layout Question
« on: June 25, 2004, 03:56:01 pm »
Hi,

Im trying to use the 368x240 layout that is provided by MiniWah on the Mamewah site in the layouts.zip file there. I have tried setting it up through the cfg file and also using the Mamwah Setup utility. Every time I select this layout, it automatically swaps back to Classic 640x480.... which I really dont want. I have tired deleting all other layouts except the Classic 368x240 one that I want, when I select it, I get a message saying. "The D:\Mamewah\Layouts\Classic 640x480 folder does not exist. Do you want to create it?" I say no of course and it puts my layout file as Classic 640x480?

Im really quite confused why this is happening. I thought just using the standard layout files this sort of thing shouldnt happen?

Please help :)

Thanks again :)

Minwah

Waht happens when you try to set it from the Layout Name option within MAMEWAH?  If it reverts to Classic 640x480 then it is implying something is wrong...

Do you have the layout in the \MAMEWAH\Layouts\Classic 368x240 folder?

Are you running an ArcadeVGA?

I do have the layout in the folder like that, I just unzipped all the contents of your layout.zip file to the layouts folder So that is all fine. I do not have an arcade VGA, and Im thinking that may be an issue as it cant adjust my windows to that sort of display with the graphics card I have. Im just trying to get Mamewah displaying on the arcade cabinet, everything else is working on it, now just mamewah :D

Oh and when I change the setting from within Mamewah, it just exits the program and mamewah no longer works. I then have to delete the files directory and set it up again.

If MAMEWAH doesn't find 368x240 in the Windows available resolutions then it will not use that res (to avoid damage to your card + monitor).  With an ArcadeVGA this won't happen, but I'm not sure how you have your arcade monitor connected (or if you even have an arcade monitor)?

Well that explains it then. I have a Geforce2 video card, a J-PAC and a 15Khz Arcade monitor. So that explains it fine. Thanks Miniwah...

And I will add.... its a great frontend, thank you so much for you help.

I managed to get it displaying on the arcade cabinet once using powerstrip, so I will try that again :)

Yes, as long as you can get Windows to display on your monitor, then MW should work :)
