For what keyword, should I search. I looked at your last 20 or so  posts and still don't know what you are talking about . . . but whatever.

This . . . time . .  I'll . . . write . . . slowly . . . so  . . . maybe  . . . you  . . . can  . . . understand.

I have searched on your name and all I could find out is that you want money back from the "Double Dragon guy". But I don't see where you state the reasons why and so it's kind of hard to answer your question as to whether you did the right thing or not.

Here's a suggestion. Post a link to the thread that explains your problem, or better yet, describe the situation again in your post for the benefit of the rest of the world who doesn't happen to read every post you've ever made.  Or here's an alternative, be rude to those people who are trying to help you . . . oh no wait, you've already done that.

Heck, I'll tell the story.  I'm really ticked right now, and need an outlet.  Might as well be Talem.

He bought a Double Dragon machine off eBay.  Then he couldn't find a way to get it home.  He asked for help, we told him what to do.  He can't take our advice because he's a 15 year old kid with no drivers license, so he cant' rent a uHaul or whatever.

So he asked the guy for his money back since he could not pick it up, and the guy refused.  I don't blame him.  The guy just wants the thing gone, and doesn't want to screw around.

So what does Talem do?  Files a report on PayPal.

Talem, do me a favor?  List your eBay name here so I (and others that want to) can block you from our listings.

wait a minute....now that Peale "used his search button"  ::) like you yelled at all of us to do....wait a minute, he just explained what you FAILED to explain to us.....maybe you should use YOUR search button and find my answer to your problem, which, after re-reading it, tells me you are COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY 100% WRONG....you should have pushed it home like I suggested  ;D  Failing that, take my second option, and PULL it home...don't ask questions you don't want to hear an answer for, or at the very least, don't be rude to all the people who offer you help that you're too obstinate (LOOK IT UP, OR SEARCH) to take.  Especially the people who aren't smart-butts like me and offer useful help.

Each and every person who offered you help could have told you the same useless advice you've given us....USE THE SEARCH BUTTON....but didn't.  Perhaps in the future, you'll take your own advice, since you obviously know how to find all the answers to the questions we ask.

I might have helped you, but you yelled at us all, and now I'm going to take my big red ball and go home  :-*

Actually, I didn't search @ all.  I've been keeping track of his 'progress' thru his posts all along.  It kind of interested me.  I knew he was going to do something bad, but I didn't know it was going to be like that.

Sorry Peale, usually I insert a large dollop of sarcasm, but I musta forgot the gravy on that dollop....I knew you didn't search, I just meant to point out that he couldn't be bothered to explain his predicament while spouting his "sage" advice to us to search.

I think once you found out about the auction there having in your area you just used the excuse of not being able to pick the cabinet up as an excuse to get your money back.

You seem to have no trouble looking for other cabinets on the newsgroups (you going to pay them and then turn around an file a buyers complaint on them too).

Why don't you just stick to ROM's and leave the cabinet collecting to the adults  >:(

haha thats weird since you have the same name as the guy who was trying to rip me off. Man i cant wait till i see your face.

Talem: I suspect that when he actually does see your face, you'll be looking at the business end of a knuckle sandwich--What kind of loser bids on something, wins it, then defaults on the seller and files a buyer's complaint???

Jamma guy, if you are the one he screwed, could you post details, like his bidding name, the auction etc.  It would help to make sure nobody else gets burned by the this poor excuse of a mamer. (it would also verify that you are not what he claims

First there was the

"send me all your rare hardware now" thread,

Then there was the "support our trrops in iraq because I say so and am not willing to enter into a rational debat about it" thread.

And now  I read THIS little gem!

I swear the everything else fourm is getting better and better every day

oops, nearly forgot. There was a spider on the doormat when I got home today. I like spiders because they eat the insects that hang around when we leave the porch light on. So I took him outside and left him by the light.

Oh, and I saw a rabbit by the letter box the other day - I don't think the spider will eat him tho

ahhh... so that is the problem....

haaa haaa haa.... getting the $$ back ??... wrong !!!... wrong... wrong...

you should have spend another $40 bucks.... get 2 dollys...
then lay the cab flat and put the 2 dollys under the cab.... and start pushing it home....
haa haa....

and along the way.... look out for those old lady drivers who drive constantly at 25 mph.... when they pass by....
you sit on the cab.... and grab on to their bumper....
that will get you home quicker !!!....  ;) :P :P :P

Peale, thanks for connecting the dots for the rest of us.

Talem- I agree with everyone else. You won the auction. You were unable to live up to your side of the agreement. You filed a paypal complaint against someone who did nothing other than try to sell an arcade cabinet. You screwed up. You need to learn to take responsibility for your own actions.

Most importantly, you do not deserve to get your money back.

whether its an auction or not.... u really think they'll deliver for free ??... well... I guess peale is right... you need to be added on to the banded list...

actually... if you don't get your money back.... some day.. some time...
some how... the cab will automatically walk to your room... so... you should just sit in your room and wait.....

Is it me, or is Talem's use of the english language worse than a four year olds?! And, I know! I live with one!

Well, had to create a profile just to add my $.02!

And, Talem, you did the wrong thing.

Have fun, guys!  ;)

Peale, I thought you were a lot older than four!  ;D  You write very well for your age, and your entrepru...entrepun...entrepren......business sense is incredible!  Keep it up and someday, when you grow up, you'll make somethng of yourself!

Back on topic.....did the guy who sharpened a pencil break that egg?

*prepare for sarcasm*
I had a waffle with strawberry jam on it.  I had to test my new waffle maker I was going to buy from cragslist, but the guy wouldn't deliver it, so I stiffed him on the deal and asking a bunch of people for their stamp of approval on my screwing him over.  Then I went to Wal-Mart and bought one, even though they wouldn't deliver it, just like that guy.  I really want everyone to tell me I was right, so if you all tell me I was wrong, I'll show you my powers of rationalization are so great they'll make you beat your head against a wall.
*end sarcastic comments*

Hey Talem....since the guy not delivering was your "deal breaker", explain to us all how you planned to get your shiny new auction purchase home....I'm betting you solved your problem or paid a shipping/delivery fee from someone there, just like you would have had to from your craigslist purchase.

*wonders how Talem is going to rationalize the fact that he's a knob any way you look at it, and that he is going to be wrong until the day he dies*

Talem,

One sad thing is you can't find anybody with a pickup truck.

The second sad thing is you don't seem to care anything about your personal responsiblity in doing what you say you are going to do.

You did screw the "guy" because you lied to him.  If you don't see that, then you are going to have a lot of trouble in your life.

Your word is sometimes the only thing of value you have.  And yours isn't worth this thread.

If my son had done such a thing I would have paid the man took my son's money, and smashed the machine, and his computer in front of him.

C'mon....be honest with us...he offered to pay you for your help, and now you're having serious doubts you'll ever see a single red cent from him!  ;D

Seriously, though....Talem, I've got a pickup and if you're only getting one or two cabs, I'll help you get 'em home.

No, you did not do the right thing as pretty much everyone has already told you.  So....  what are you going to do about it?

The reason you started this thread was because you had a feeling that what you did was morally wrong and that you took the wrong course of action, no?  Why else ask if what you did was right or not?  If you are not prepared to correct the situation, why even bother to ask if you made the wrong decision?

It's kind of a shame Jamma Guy had to join the boards under these circumstances (giving his side of the story - though his side was taken long before he joined).  Welcome anyhow. EDIT: Read below post.

Secondly: the first thing you look at before you buy anything is the shipping.  It doesn't matter if it's a small 3oz box of a heavy cabinet, it's your responsibility to find out how and how much getting your purchase to your door is going to set you back.  If they don't state it, it is your responsibility to ask.

It seems you bought the cab on impulse and decided to figure out later how you would get that home.  Being the young age you are, you're limited in options but that really wasn't the seller's problem.

Anyway yeah you're wrong.  There's really nothing more I can add to what was already said.

I tell you what he thought ....

He had no intention of picking that cabinet up.

He figured he'd pay for it and then use Paypal's "Buyer's Complaint" as some kind of blackmail into getting it delievered.

OMG! ... a complaint from Paypal and my funds are frozen.

Holy Sh*t .... I better load that cabinet up and truck it on over at my expense so I can get my funds back and people don't think I'm some kind of con-artist because talem filed a complaint against me.

Sorry junior but it doesn't work that way.

Oh ... btw you might want to update your WTB post to include the following line ...

"I WANT IT DELIEVERED TO MY HOUSE FOR FREE OR I"LL FILE A BUYER'S COMPLAINT!"  ;D

wow i wasnt going to pick up the cabinet?

Then why the ---fudgesicle--- did i have people willing to help me , then back out at the last minute , then i put up a ad on craiglist to see if i can rent a truck and you know what i aint paying $250 for someone i dont know to haul it . Yes i loooked into this enough and yes i have asked around to see if i can get people to help me becuase of friends here in this city with mini vans and trucks but they flacked right at the last minute.

Dude ... can't you tell when someone is jerking your chain???

LMAO ... I'm not the guy you screwed over.

I'm just having a little fun with it since you just assumed I was him.  Everyone seemed to gain more interest in the thread so I went with it ... lol.

I was going to post something like this

"Me and a few of my underage friends will be waiting on you at the auction ... I dare you to show your face!" .... but then I figured you would freak and call the cops and have him arrested.

Boy ... wouldn't he really like you then ... hehe

... you got PUNK'D  ;D (no hard feelings  :P )

Wish I could be at this auction so I could bid up anything you are hoping to buy.

Expecting someone to deliver the game when it isn't stated on the CL ad, ridiculous.

My 3 year old has more common sense.

Talem:

I thought this thread was pulled, not merely moved! In reading through the issue and your past posts. I have come to 2 decisions.

1) You did not do the right thing. You purposefully inflicted damage to someone else to relive yourself of a problem (in the adult world that is called being selfish).

2) You've got a bit of an attitude problem when it comes to posting. The whole reason this community exists is because people have donated their time, skills & money to help each other on a completely voluntary basis (in the adult world this is called philanthropy).

Have you noticed how few people want to help you? Either its a giant conspiracy against you or you're the one kicking sand in the sandbox (in the adult world that's called being an @$$hole).

Wow, I don't check in for a month or look and look what I miss out on.   :)

Talem, it's a shame you aren't getting the point here, you asked for opinions, I haven't seen one that stated you were right.  You're getting a bad start on how to deal with people in life and these folks are trying to steer you in the right direction.

Case in point, a 13 year old neighbor of mine accidentally broke a vase we were selling at a garage sale for $10.  I was an accident, I told him it was ok and not to worry about it.  He felt so  bad about it, he came over the next day with $10 he had made mowing some lawns to try and pay for it.  I bviously couldn't take it money, but his heart was in the right spot.  He took personal responsibility for something, and that put him on a good start.

You on the other hand, are going to have a tough time I can see, you're already blind buddy.  I hope you find some common sense soon....

thats completly different man, yes i would pay for the broken vase since hence i broke it. Actully you guys a friend of mine who lives close to this guy bought the arcade and found out it was Broken, not like fixable broken , more like alot of the parts of the monitor where broken. Yes i made a bad mistake with the claim ( Which i canceled cuase i was being nice), but at least i didnt have someone tow it down for me to find out this guy would have jackled me for the $250. Now i think hes scared since he has two people on his asses wanting there money back. Anyways ill update you on that situation.

The whole point of my story, which you missed completely, is this kid, 2 years younger than you, took ownership for something he did, whereas you did not.  Unfortunately, you got away with it which has obviously taught you not a damn thing.

It's pretty clear no one gives a rat's ass about any "situation" involving you.  Grow up.  Please....
