Photoshop: printing across multiple pages
« on: June 16, 2004, 10:49:28 am »
I can't figure out how to get photoshop v6.0 to print my 17x9 image across two pages.  I want to print a mock up for testing purposes.  Any ideas?

You should see an outline on the screen of an 8 1/2 x 11" page.
Align the image on the left hand side and print.
Then align on the right hand side and print.
You will have two pages that you can then align in the middle.

Hope that helps.

I've been doing something similar to that but I could have sworn there was a better way to do it.

Maybe I'm remembering the wrong thing.  I know in the past I've taken a 1 page image and blown it up so that it printed over several pages, the word N'up comes to mind.  Maybe I'm thinking of a different program.

The N-up thing that you are thinking of is usually built in to the printer driver/software as opposed to photoshop.  I have a samsun laser printer and it has the option of blowing things up to 2x2 or 3x3.  Although this doesn't really help for most marquees, because there isn't an option for 1x3.  But for side art, the 2x2 option is a pretty good one.

I access the N-up option by selecting the "preferences..." or the "settings..." button after I do a File->print in photoshop or any other graphics program.

How would you print exactly the same size as the image?  For example, I'm having a control panel overlay created for me.  I'd like to print it out over several pages. (but when put together it should be exactly 34x15, the size of the control panel)

I have Photoshop CS in case the options are different.
