Nes/Mame on GBA? & Some new questions too!
« on: June 15, 2004, 03:10:55 am »
1st Q. What is the best emulator for playing NES games on the GBA?

2nd Q. Is there such thing as a Mame version for GBA?  If so, where do I find it?

3rd Q.  Which GBA blank cartidges are the best and where should I buy it from?

If you have any other emulation on GBA tips, I'd appreciate those too...  :)

New questions at the bottom!

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

The best nes emu for the gba is PocketNES go here to get it www.pocketnes.org and no there isnt a mame emu. For the blank cart go to www.gbaemu.com and look at what they say about them.

While surfing the net checking out blank carts and such I came across something that said only 32 games could be saved to a 1gig cart...  Would that translate to 16 on a 512?  Is that a cart specific thing?

Please, if anyone has a GBA and has done the blank cart thing could you let me know your experiences whith your particular hardware?  Specifically what brand, size and how many games you can fit.

...I'm using the XRom 512. Absolutely no problems....she works like a dream.

I've also used a program called "Mateo" which converts mpegs and avi video to a special GBA format. I've made a bunch of music videos for my GBA using this software.

I agree with another post about pocket NES. It works perfectly. I've created for my self about 6 GBA "roms" each of which runs about 80-100 games.

Generally I can add one of my NES "roms", a music video (about 3-4 min long) and still cram about 5 GBA games onto the 512 XRom.

Go here for a ton of info....it you haven't already found this site:

http://www.gameboy-advance.net/

That site got me totally started!....while I'm now lovin' my GBA....I'm still salivating over the new PSP!

Good luck!
