What material did you print your CP overlay on?

Just trying to get some ideas for what feasible materials are out there.

Depending on the size of your cp you can print it yourself on Epson Landscape photo glossy paper (8.3"x23").  Or Epson sells it on a roll of 8.3"x30'.  I've used both with great sucess.  You can then get self adhesive laminate from the hobby store.  I use the stuff people get to laminate their books.  It protects really well and if you decide to add lexan it also keeps humidity from warping the paper.

I'm curious too.  I went to kinkos and asked them what they had.  They have "vynil". ( I think that's what I called MYLAR. )  They had thick and thicker.  They also had a heavyweight bond paper.

The stuff they print "real" CPO on is pretty tough.  But I don't know what to ask for.

I don't know what is ment by "film".  I guess that's vynil.

What is Laminate?  What else can it be called?

I'm looking for something that's like shelf paper but thicker and can be printed on.

Some of the online services print on an adhesive backed thick paper (like a heavy contact paper) and then they laminate it (basically run plastic over the top. The final output looks & feels much like vinyl, and is very durable. Not as vivid as an actual screen printed vinyl piece, but quit nice anyway. To the uninitiated, it would look very much like a vinyl cpo.

I would suggest classicarcadegraphics.com or mamemarquees.com rather than Kinko's. $35 plus a little for shipping. Well worth it.

The Omega was laminated.  The mini's I buried under the lexan before I smartened up and started laminating.  I also emailed you two other pics from some I've done.  I can't resize them here at work otherwise I'd post them.  The 8.3"x23" is about $16 for 10 sheets and the roll of 30' is $36 online shipped.

Thanks for the pics.  Real nice stuff.  I think this will be the way I go.  An dluckily I already have some 3-M Spray adhesive.  Good Stuff.

Do you have a brand name for the laminate stuff?  Have you had any problems with durability?  Are those inkjet or laser prints?

I have 2 MAS systems sticks that I'm planning on removing some stuff that looks like this and replacing the graphics on them.  Any tips on how you would remove that same kind of stuff.  Do you think you could just put new graphics  & laminate over what you had if you wanted?

I also used an Epson 1200 inkjet printer with book protection laminate to cover it up. The roll I used is 13"x32.8" photo paper (I have a continous inking system with pigment inks in the printer and that doesn't print on the high gloss stuff).

I had some design issues, but the art looked great to me.

I'm still planning on using ClassicArcadeGrafix on my final CP though.

I got the adhesive laminate tip from patrickl  .  I have an inkjet (Epson 880).  I haven't noticed any wear on the panels but it certainly won't outlast a professional CPO.  You could always redo the panel if needed by stripping or covering what you have.  If you are protecting it with lexan I would have no worries at all.

However:  When I finally get to my own personal cabinet I will also use ClassicArcadeGrafix and no lexan.  That is some good stuff!

Not sure about your MAS sticks.
