PCI Video Card?
« on: June 14, 2004, 05:16:26 am »
Awhile ago I bought a video out card for my MAME setup. Much to my dismay though, when the item arrived I found out that I can't use because my MAME PC is too old and does not have the right slot :-\ (I think it is an AGP slot that it needs). Does anybody know of a cheap PCI slot S-Video out card? I am looking to spend less than $40 (I got the AGP card slightly used for $35).

ATI rage II series are pci and come with tv-out--can be found on ebay readily enough.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

I have the 64MB version of this one
http://gameve.com/gve/Store/ProductDetails.aspx?sku=VC-POWERC-1100
no problems at all and most likely work because i used mine on an old HP  ;D its composite and DVI that can be easily converted so up to 3 monitors plus can paly newer games. if you looking for cheaper, im trying to find an old Radeon 32MB PCI (yes, thats right no number after radeon)
other wise look on pricewatch www.pricewatch.com

If you're already spending the $40 on another video card, you might want to consider buying a new mobo? You can get Intel slot 1 boards supporting the fatests P3's for peanuts and the chips for next to nothing.
