Jamma board to PC Monitor...
« on: June 12, 2004, 02:06:41 pm »
Hi,

I have been looking all over but can't seem to see if anyone has done this before...  I have a Samsung DLP Television that has a VGA input.  I was wondering if you can take the RGB, composite sync, and ground and hook that up to a VGA monitor (or tv in my case).  I think you should be able to use pins 1,2,3,13 for the r,g,b,and sync, but im not sure which grounds to hook up or if it will even work at all.  Has anyone here ever tried to hook jamma up to a vga???

Many have, however you need a costly 'upscan converter' do to the different sync rate.

It should work if the monitor/tv supports the refresh rate output by the game.

I think you'll need to connect all except pins 4, 9, 11, 12 and 15. And you should make sure all grounds are common.

1: Red
2: Green
3: Blue
4: Monitor ID
5: Ground
6: Red Ground
7: Green Ground
8: Blue Ground
9: No pin?
10: Sync Ground
11: Monitor ID
12: Monitor ID
13: Horizontal Sync
14: Verical Sync
15: Monitor ID

Great, I think the "all grounds common" was messing me up.  I was only hooking up one ground.   Do you mean that 5,6,7,8,and 10 are all to the ground on the jamma??
