Dead Hantarex MTC 9300 monitor
« on: June 10, 2004, 06:00:00 am »
Yesterday I was using my arcademachine. Suddenly the screen goes black and the just a ticking sound comes from the back.

At back of the hantarex psu there is a label  "Supplies ok" and a red light for each +5 +12 -12 -5.  When i turn on the power the +5 +12 and -5 are flashing and making the ticking sound.  I suspect a fuse, but I like to be certain before I start fiddling around in there. The light behind the marquee is working.

So anyone have a solution for this ?

is this the chassis in the plastic box?

ticking is down to the power supply in trip because a short, normally on hanty monitors its down to bad caps, shorted hot, maybe a high voltage poly cap on the hot collector, sometimes the flyback
