Mamewah speed
« on: June 04, 2004, 08:52:11 pm »
I am running Mamewah on an AMD 450 with 256MB memory running windows ME.  Most mame games run well as do most features of mamewah.   My problem is that when I switch from the main list (complete rom set) to the next list it takes 46 seconds.   The other lists seem to switch quickly.   How can I improve this?   Ive seen other posts recomending Windows XP, but I don't really want to do this if I don't have to.   Any other tips out there?

btw... Mamewah kicks ass, thanks minwah

The best thing to do is filter your games list into smaller custom list(s).  Set 'Cycle Main List' (in Games List Options) to 'No'.  The smaller the lists you use the quicker it will be - MAMEWAH seems to have a problem in Win98 clearing large lists quickly, it doesn't have the problem in XP (<1 sec between all list changes).

I just upgraded to XP and everything in Mamewah is MUCH faster.  Thanks again.
