« on: May 31, 2004, 11:30:05 am »
Howdy all, been a very long time since I posted on here,

I recently stopped playing on my cabinet long enough to finish it off, well that and a couple of hardware failures and re designs, only hindered by lack of money etc etc you all know the drill.

Heres a quck run down of spec and whats been done

The Cab
Metal Cabinet resprayed in Ford Pacifica Metallic blue (has a purple tint in the sun light)
25" Hantarax POLO 15 KHZ monitor
standard JAMMA setup, speakers are not connected to jamma loom
2 car stereo speakers under Control Panel
New control panel w/Capcom overlay and lexan fitted w/new japanese sticks and buttons (same as Sega Machines)
Silver Capcom side art (one each side)

The PC
Shuttle XPC SN41G2 Aluminum
XP2400+ 266 FSB running at 2.0GHZ
ArcadeVGA & J-Pac
40GB HDD
256 DDR
Pioneer Slot DVD drive
Creative soundworks DT2200 5.1 kit (although only 2 sats are used for the rear L&R, centre speaker isnt connected, front L&R speakers are the car stereo speakers)
Wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse

OS
Windows2kPro SP4 DX9.0b
Emulators
Nebula, and MAME32 purely for Capcom and Neo Geo fighters

finished %100 this week, replaced original glass w/ smoked lexan been more or less done for 6 weeks or so.

my other cab is an unemulated machine, everything it runs isnt emulated (all original boards)
mainly CPS3 and Namco fighters will post pics of that one later, anyways, hope you like it,

Thats pretty wicked!
I love the shuttle in the cab... would it be possible to be a black face plate for it?

hehe, Ive got a black shuttle xpc w/black DVD writer and black 19"tft monitor upstairs in my room looks the business!!,
was a special edition XPC before they decided to go the route of changable cases, facias and accessories http://eu.shuttle.com/pf12.htm#colorpf12

lot more range of colours now, also alot of places stocking coloured bezels or flip down bezels for funky PC cases,

Wow man, very impressive!  I could give a go at the side art for free if you'd like, PM me with the details *or use the chat room, cause I'm on there a lot*  I'm very very impressed with the overall turnout of that cabinet. does the lexan constrict those japanese balltops at all or do they feel the right height?  I have some japanese balltops I'm going to be putting into some solo joysticks, and I'm going to try to mount them as high as possible.
Also: do you have any pictures of the cabinet before or which brand of cabinet that is?  I REALLLY want to pick one of those things up but I think I'm gonna have to go to Canada or something cause no one in Seattle likes those kinds of cabinets.  Where'd you get the japanese parts as well for the cab?  I only know a few places online but I'd have to have my brother translate everything, and I don't think a lot of them accept american credit cards.

hey cthulhuluke my ol romshare buddy I got the japanese parts from suzo in the UK, www.suzo.co.uk or you can use the ball top sanwa's from ultimarc. I bought someof both, the sticks come in handy for making cutsom sticks.

Does the lexan restrict the sticks......it does a little for some of my freinds cos they are used to the longer sanwa sticks, my and my girlfreind, we prefer the smaller sticks, infact thats why we used 5mm lexan on the CP, cos we wanted to lose some height for her hands, just had tomake sure the measurements for the placement of the sticks and the hole for it was correct tho, otherwise yea they felt crappy and didnt always spring back into neutral, needless to say I dont have that problem, this is the 3rd different CP its had on in 2 years so I kinda got it down to a fine art now.

I dont have any before and after pics im afraid, when it arrived back in march 2k2 it was a very very battered and dirty unbranded white cabinet, monitor was baaaad, no game and I still paid

Ooo capcom art books are always full of awesome pictures you can't find on the net.  If you're scanning pictures you really want in, make sure to scan at very hi-resolutions to make the final side-art come out really smooth.
Yah there are japanese cabs all over the states, but not up here in the Northwest.  I've only ever seen one japanese cab here, and it sold for like $600 which was way too much for me at that time.

Man, always a shame when a nice cab like this has to be sold, but Megalo 410's are very awesome.  Hey do you have any shots of your arcade?  I'd love to see what other cabs you play on, always cool to see what people are into.

Sooooo sweeeet dude!  My bro's neo geo collection is pretty f'ing nuts man, he's got the AES unit, not the MVS, so all his stuff is way more expensive too.  He does live in Japan so he can get all of it for much cheaper, but still, he has King of Fighters 94-2k2, 2k3 is still too expensive for him *I believe its around $250 us dollars, 30,000 yen or so, probably a little bit cheaper now.*  That Megalo looks pretty bad ass man, the big screen always makes the game seem better somehow.
-very nice collection so far, keep up the good work.
