My New MAME Cabinet
« on: May 29, 2004, 12:46:10 am »
Slowly but surely my plans for a MAME cabinet of my own are taking shape. I just finished the CAD drawing based on LuSiD's plans. Check out the pics:

The artwork on the model is not what I am planning on using, but the panels will be black. If I can build the cab with no design errors I will make the CAD files public (created with Anim8or).

One thing I am not too sure about though is my monitor. For some reason it looks really small. It is a 24" screen, so I don't know why it seems small. What do you think?

I am making final adjustments to the plans and then cutting will begin! ;D

You can't link to images w/ geoshities. Change the extension of the filenames to .txt or just upload them to this site.

Sorry, I can't find another host right now. Copy and paste the above image URLs into the adress bar and they should work.

How did you measure your monitor?  The reason I ask is because it certainly looks more of a widescreen than a 4:3 ratio monitor.  Also Check your scale as the cabinet looks too tall for the distance between the ground and the CP.  Those are just my observations though.

Hmm... It would seem that you are onto something. I just checked the model and it seems that some of the measurements were indeed off. It looks quite a bit better now.

BTW, the first picture was taken in perspective mode, which makes the cabinet look much taller. The second picture gives a better idea of what the cab will look like.
