New project, lookin for da input.
« on: May 29, 2004, 05:21:57 pm »
Okay, just finished a cocktail cab, and am starting work on a Golden axe 2 cab.  No worries, it was a converted one, and I don't plan to do any more damage, or touch the sideart.  Anyway, here is the first draft of what I'm planning.  No patented Zakk frankenpanel (TM) this time, since this one's for me.  Just looking for ideas, here are two (very rough) renders of what I have in mind.  Oh, and the actual project is here:

I like the cp layout but I think you should keep it "Golden Axe" themed. Have weapons and armor strewn about as artwork. Dragons, swords, scantily clad women riding dragons with swords. So on...

Might be a good idea, hard to find good sized images that are directly golden axe related though, so I might have to look at Boris images or something to fill that huge panel space...hmmmm...

If you could get one of those pictures that used to adorn the sides of vans in the late 70's that would be awesome--reminiscent of the conan the barbarian poster  ;D

its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Hmm, those are pretty good...

I had done one up, just the marquee for Goldenaxe 2 except with the "revenge of death adder" removed, and custom text in there.  I'll see if these new images "fit" of it they would indeed be to 80's van-ish :)

Maybe I'll just airbrush on all the artwork...hmmmm

Not that it's realy relevant, but, alt-0153 (on the num-pad) gives this result:
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Hehe subtle reminder of the dangers of copyright infringement?  Wonder if that applies, considering this is an actual golden axe cab??

edit: Hey, you're right it does!  I didn't know that, and it looks good on there! :)

Bit late but I have to agree with the others - the CP art posted looks nice but doesn't go with the sideart imo.

I'm a big Golden Axe fan so looking forward to seeing the finished job :)

Okay, how about this (something different on the lower banner in the final one, but this might be a good start)

I've decided to donate this project to charity http://www.mariosfightagainstals.com/

I'm pretty happy about this decison, but it means I have to step up the progress a lot.  If you have any last minute suggestions this is the time to give them :)

I think you're on the right track now. The art you have now fits the theme perfectly.

Good job on going with the charity.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.
