Galaxian Side Art Question
« on: May 26, 2004, 02:32:41 pm »
I have a Galaxian that I'm working on restoring, and the side art is borderline between me opting to sand it off or try and hand-touch up the paint, or work on some stencils, or I don't know what. I really do not want a plain white cab. Does anyone/has anyone ever made Galaxian side art stencils/decals, and know where they might be available?

Or is this where you wish me the best of luck?

Don't sand it off.  It's actually a vinyl sticker.  Get yourself a heat gun and peel it off, if you're going to remove it.

If you think you can touch it up, use a fine tipped brush.

If not, Mahuti is working on side art now, but it's a very complex design.

I'm not... but I think Stingray was. I'd love to help though, if he needs it.

I had not noticed it was a decal, so far all I've done is yank all the electronics over to the workbench for cleaning, fixing & testing, so the sanding option is out.

Someone on the KLOV boards mentioned that they're working on a repro they plan to have done sometime around August, for anyone else that has been looking, there's some good news.

Being colorblind (protanope) I don't like to attempt a whole lot of art rework, but with a repro on the horizon, I'll just clean this up as best I can for the moment.

Thanks for the information.
