new arcade seller store in my mall??
« on: May 25, 2004, 01:43:15 pm »
i dont know if anybody else has one of these in this environment, but recently a new store opened up here in Nashville, TN in the local mall thats called Arcade and Billiard Superstore.  its a pretty cool place, but it sells arcade machines (of course, only classics like donkey kong, space invaders, mrs. pac man, etc.) but they also had a bubble hockey game (looks like super chexx but its a rip off), several pool tables, bar stools (all kinds, the old ones with cards on the seats were $99 a pop, but they looked cool).  they had the overhead light structures for the pool tables with all kinds of different designs.  they also had a couple of cocktail cabs (mrs pacman) but the most interesting thing they had were several slot machines. i bet they had at least 20 of them!  around $300-500 a piece, but i was suprised to see them because TN doesnt have that kind of gambling here.  anyway, they were charging 3k to 4k for the upright cabs, and i know they are getting them all from the auctions here.  what a rip.  anybody have stores like this where they live?

I originally bought my cabinet that I'm mameing from a place here in Tucson that sold all kinds of arcade games (he bought them, refurbished them, and then sold them), but that was 2 years ago and since he's gone into the buisness of selling gas powered scooters and go-karts...interesting change of buisness, but since then I haven't found anyone here that sells anything remotely related to arcade stuff  :(

Lots of arcades sell their machines to rotate in new ones. Some will even post the prices on the machines, but most I think you just need to ask.

Here in the DC area we've got Champion Billiards, which, in addition to all things pool related, also sells pinball machines and MAME cabinets (Hanaho ArcadePC Deluxe).

There's a bloke down the road from me in Mass (R-Cade Games) that has a shop.  His prices seem reasonable.  He puts stuff on eBay from time to time.
