Dreamcast Controller Hack and Button Wiring

Hi Guys,

I have just started hacking apart my dreamcast controllers for my control panel.

I have obtained the following diagram which outlines exactly where to solder for the offical sega control pad.

I am going to soldier the control pad to Happ Competition buttons.  I was just wondering how do I soldier the buttons to the control pad.
The dreamcast controller has one soldier point per button and the HAPP competition button has 3 microswitches (the silver parts haning of them).

Would anyone be able to help me out in how I wire the DC controller to the HAPP buttons, and how or where to use the ground.

I just found the following link which may answer my question about where the ground is located on the Happ pushbutton.

Still trying to work out how the ground is connected from the DC controller to the pushbuttons.

I think I have answered my own questions here.

I have found out that the DC gamepad has only one ground.  So to complete the circuit you can daisy chain each HAPP pushbutton ground to each other then have one wire go to the DC gamepad which is grounded neat the up arrow on the game pad.

Yep, you've got it Euclidean.  I have to laugh at this picture though.  They've scratched a perfectly good PCB to get solder points that are available just above or below each button.  (Follow the traces, and you'll find a hole through which the wire can be pushed and soldered)  Much better than trying to scrape and solder to get a good join.
