Mamewah , V-Pinball and VP-launch
« on: May 22, 2004, 05:07:02 pm »
Sorry for bothering and opening a new thread, but I am pretty stuck here and still in search for some answers.

I am running Win 98 SE with Mamewah as my Frontend of choice. I really would like to start my pinballtables through mamewah, but I am still not satisfied.

I am using the 640x266 resolution.
1. When launching a table v-pinball keeps this resolution even I configured v-pinball for using 800x600. So just a little part of the pinballtable is visible on my arcademonitor. By the way I am using the ArcadeVGA from ultimarc and a Hantarex Polo 3 - Monitor.
2. When exiting the table with the "ESC" - Key, vp-launch wont do its work, as it does on my XP-System. I have to manually quit v-pinball and vp-launch. Is this a Win 98 issue ?
I really would like to keep win 98 on my cabinet cause its a small an fast operating system.

Any help ? (i know i am some sort of perfectionist ....  :-\)

Please don't start new threads just because I don't reply immediately.  If you want to tick me off right off the bat, this is a good way to do it.  :)

It's a 98 issue and yet it's not..... it will work in 98, but you need an additional dll.... which one I'm uncertain.  I would like to help but I've yet to find someone patinet enough to work with me to figure out which dll 98 lacks.  Also I'm pretty busy in the real world right now so I don't have a lot of time to devote to something like this.

Easiest solution... upgrade to xp... it's beefier but it's more stable and most emus actually perform better in xp than 98, contrary to popular belief.  You simply must have enough ram and harddrive space to handle xp's large footprint.

I have upgraded to Win XP, now everything works fine.

Thx again for VP-Launch and Mamewah..... I really, really apppreciate your hard work and the endless hours you spend to give us these great programs.

Win XP is working well with an Athlon 1400 and 256 MB Ram. Even the harddiskgames like Area51 ar running smooth.
