I am hacking a vga cable wire to a arcade monitor.  Does anyone know which color strand of wire is the hsync and vsync?  I figured out the rgb and ground.  I know its pin 13 and 14.  I just don'tknow which color strand.  Is there standardized colors for each pin?

I don't think there is a standard colour for each wire, no.

I hacked a VGA >> JAMMA relatively easily. Sound was pretty simple too.

I found this site really useful: http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/pc_arc3.html

Until I found I could buy a JPAC so I didn't bother with a keyboard hack in the end.

Take it easy on yourself.  Take a multimeter set to ohms.  Touch one end on the pin and the other end on the wire, when you hit it, it will move.

That's how you trace wires.
