Help: Mame display shows two images
« on: May 16, 2004, 11:39:17 am »
Ok, I am using WinXP and installed a 32MB Nvidia Ge-Force2 card.  Mame displayed fine but I noticed that some of the display screen images (Mame and every other application thing I opened) was off of the screen a bit.  I  got the Nvidia card from Ebay and it did not come with a CD-ROM or booklet.  Anyway, I wanted Nvidia's display management software to allow me to stretch and/or move the display around.  Anyway, I went to Nvidia's site and download the updated "Forceware Display Driver".  I installed the driver and my display seemed more crisper.  I was able to move the display left/right/up/down (although I was not able to figure out how to stretch the display vertically and horizontally though ... but that is another issue).    Anyway, somewhat happy with the results so far I decided to play a Mame game.    When Mame came up though, the actual Mame display came up with two images of the exact same display screen and the display with scrunched to the left side of my display.  Basically think of two TV screen displays with one on the bottom/left of the screen and the other (with the exact same image) located in the top/left of the screen).

Since Mame is the only one application having trouble displaying I thought this must be a Mame thing.  Keep in mind everything displayed normally before I updated to new Nvidia drivers, although every other application (even VP Launcher) displayed full screen nicely with one image.

Hopefully some one can help me....

PS:  If you can help me with my other issue that would be great as well:

1) How do you program VP Launcher to map which keys control what (ie: left flipper/right flipper, plunger, tilt,e tc..)

What kind of display are you using?  What is your interface?

Sorry about that......my interface is from my Nvidia 32MB video card to a 27" JVC TV via an S-Video cable.

Also, I disconnected my TV and connected the computer to a computer monitor and Mame displays perfectly when started.   So this is definitely a Nvidia display problem but I can not understand why only the Mame application displays incorrectly when the computer is connected to the TV.

Let me clarify...... when I bring up the Mame32 GUI eveything looks fine with one nice fullsized GUI screen which seems to work no problem.   It is only after I double click to select a game and the game begins do I have a problem with the doule image thing...
