 so I'm still waiting to hear from the daphne and I would like to get this game running correctly before saturday night (big party).

DL and SA both start
mpeg test works great for both so no problems as far as not having correct video. I have all the roms and have I think I have the framefiles set right. Here's the problem both DL and SA go through the intro and when I hit start I get a coin sound the overlay comes up and then it jumps right back into the intro and freezes and I start to lose lives.  

Thayer's quest, lupin 3rd, cobra command all play fine.

You may have better luck posting this on Daphne.rulecity.com board.  Daphne Devs moderate it, and they probably can help you.

Humor me here and turn off the overlay and try to run it. (daphne is funny about overlays and video not being at 640x480)

no didn't work.

Basically you hear the announcer going through the story, then when I hit start the video starts over, but the sound continues with what the narrator is saying.

Do you have a dvd2daphne rip or a laserdisk rip? Also does the screen go blank and the naration continue? If so what happens if you coin up?

sorry haven't gotten back sooner.

No screen loops back to title and then either freezes on dirks face  swining sword from intro. Same for Space ace.

The funny thing is these files worked fine on my pc

Does it work on the other daphne games? Also, try running the video in the mpeg seek test. Let it run and make sure it continues to play past where it gets stuck.

Sorry I thought I posted that in the 1st post. Space Ace and DL both play fine all the way through the mpeg test. so I know my video files are good. which file should i have the games pointed too?

Oops. didn't re-read it.  
     Your log looks ok, so the next thing I would check is the framefile. Are you launching with the daphne loader? if not, try to get it to run with the loader. Post your framefile if you would also.

Which file should I set mpeg too? I thought I had it set right but maybe not

That looks like part of a dvd2daphne framefile. Is this a DVD conversion? If it is a dvd2daphne conversion, the frame file is supposed to have a lot more to it. This would also explain the freeze. You only have a framefile directing you to the intro.

Yes, The framefile does seem to be the problem.

What was the source of the mpeg's?. Are they all in one large file or are they split?.

I have multiple mpeg files for SA and DL I also have a single
dl24 mpeg too


Here is the thing I thought that it was a bad frame file, but when I hit generate new framefile that's all it gave me.

Again all the videos are perfect. I ran the mpeg test for both games no problems.

It sounds like your mpeg's were extracted from a dvd.

Try adding the following instead of the "151 Lair24.m2v" line and let me know if it works. It all depends which DVD version the files were extracted from.

download and unzip dvd2daphne. The framefile come with it. They are the same for all conversions. That would be a easier than cutting and pasting here.

I dl one zipfile containing two files :

lair24.m2v
lair24.ogg

I manually created a framefile containing :

c:\tmp\dl

When I start daphne with the following options :

daphne.exe lair vldp -framefile framefile.txt

I get an error saying :

rom image file dl_f2_u1.bin could not be loaded
Please read the daphne_log.txt .........

In that logfile I see :
