Trouble getting sync with Jpac and Trident
« on: May 14, 2004, 01:27:01 pm »
When the K7191 is hooked up to a jamma board--sync is rock solid and I have a great picture, When i hook it up to the Jpac/Trident combo, i can't seem to get sync regardless of what combinations i try--it just keeps rolling and the jpac sync LED remains out.  So far I have tried H- with V-, (h-,V+),(H+,V-),(H+,V+)

Anyone running a jpac with K7000 monitor?  what wires went to your composite line on the jamma edge connector?  Thanks!

I think some monitors need the composite sync from the VGA out to be run through a NOT gate. Most monitors work fine with it wired directly I believe. I think some only need the H. sync.

nope not yet--wanted to get a stable picture before messing with the software--i tried it with both the 31 and 15khz jumpers in (default) as well as the 15khz by itself--no stable picture anywhere.  I should still be able to get a solid picture (although split in half vertically) with just hardware right?

No.  Turn on 15KHz, see the pretty picture.  The base mode before turning it on is just so you don't damage the monitor.

What's your setup like?  What OS are you using?

If you're using DOS or Windows 95/98, load the arcmon.sys driver in your config.sys.  When it boots, see if the LED flashes.

Yeah tried that.  I've sent andy an e-mail for some insight.
