Nvidia 32MB G-Force with S-Video out help required
« on: May 13, 2004, 03:56:41 pm »
A friend gave me this card to use on my cabinet.  After I installed the card, WinXp recognized it and it seems to work fine although the actual picture screen to too far to the right (ie: full display is somewhat off of the screen to the right).

Is there a way to adjust the video picture to "center" the image on my TV and/or simply stretch the image as well...?

My friend does not have a disc which came with the card and I tried looking for it on Nvidia sight but I have no idea what to look for..... any help would be appreciated as to how I can solve my display problems...

Thanks

go to www.nvidia.com and look to download drivers, should be on the top bar of the browser.  Download the newest detonator drivers, or older version depending on how you feel about graphics drivers.  Since it is a GeForce it is supported by Nvidia's current driver scheme.

Once you have it loaded and reboot, if you right click on your desktop and then go to properties, and then navigate to settings tab there should be an advanced button that lets you stretch and make the screen fit.

I am not sure exactly where it is located, but you should be able to find it, just grab the newest Nvidia Detonator drivers.

I'm using an nVidia card for my mame system also, and i'n found that nVidia has poor tvout drivers.
I found this:
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/11/2/5/11-2-5-8.shtml
A software solution that works pretty well called TVTool.
Give a try, it should help center the desktop and remove the back outline around the screen.

It says this software is shareware..... will it expire after a while unless I buy it?

I don't think that it will expire... i think that it just turns off after 15min and you'll need to start it again... i'm not too sure.
I found a "work around" for mine so i never found out...
