Linking Dreamcast
« on: May 13, 2004, 11:35:13 am »
This may be a dumb question, but is it possible to link dreamcasts? I know nothing about the modem on them. I was thinking of a two person racing cab with a couple of dreamcasts linked that way each person wouldn't be looking at only a portion of the screen, they could each have their own. ???

Yes, there is actually a serial port in the DC that is used to hookup machines for "head to head" games.  There are only a handfull of games which actually use the DC link cable, but if its racing you want, then you are in luck, as Ferarri F355 Challenge has a head to head mode.

Lik-Sang has the Dreamcast "vs link cable" listed here:

Too bad more games are not supported. It would be great to have a 2 player driving cabinet.  :'( (I saw an empty virtua racer cab on ebay for $25) Oh well.... Thanks for info guys.
