I finally got round to having a go at my own layout for my cab...it is in 368x240, although I haven't been able to test it with my arcade monitor yet.

I like your layout especially the centered text.

I havn't played around with MAMEWah at all and was wondering if
the following is possible, on the left hand bottom where it says Pole Position in blue, is it possible to have the marquee there instead?

Think it looks simple but nice. Don't see a problem with the centered text either. Ading the marquee sounds like a good idea. I'd put it on top of the screen though (and then maybe the system name below).

I see you plan on using a game list for each control panel. Is there a way to automatically select the game list based on the CP you have hooked up?

I had no idea centred text had such a bad name!  I used to have it left justified, but to me it just doesn't look right now...

I had a play around with the marquee idea.  As it stands the area is too small for (some) marquees to be displayed properly (remember how low-res it is).

Here's one that looked pretty good:

I hadn't seriously considered using marquees before, as many of them are poor quality images.  But actually it doesn't matter when using such a low-res, as they are effectively reduced in size anyway, hiding the imperfections.

I will have a play around and try to increase the size of the marquee somewhat...

There probably is a way this could be done, but I can't think of an ideal way to do it.

Personally I'm not bothered about having it auto-switch lists, since I have to open the front door & coin door, unhook the catches, disconnect molex plugs etc. to swap panels so hitting 1 button isn't a big deal for me.  If I had a rotating CP then it might be more of an issue...

I'd try changing the colour of the text though, maybe a blue or yellow - a colour that will match in with the colours on the left.

Not to mention if you use the title screen and not the marquee then you don't have to worry about finding all of them for your games.

Very true.  I like to use titles rather than in-game shots so I pretty much have the name of the game right there anyway (except for those few games which don't have title screens).

Which reminds me, I need to make sure I have a title shot for each working game, I seem to be missing a lot lately...
