Remove windows2000 messages

I'd like my win2000 booting process to be as invisble as possible. I have converted the boot logo (using reshack and modifying ntoskernel.exe) to a grey screen with the word loading in the middle. That grey color is the same as the background color I use for my desktop, so it looks more integrated and it gives the impression of booting faster. I've also changed the background color for HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors so that the blue color that appear during the boot, prior to the loading of the administrator, config looks grey and not blue. I've found out that if I change all colors of that reg key to grey, then I can hide everything during the loading process, when the screens saying loading config, bla bla bla network etc appear on screen. The only problem is that I cannot remove the graphic banners with the win2000 logo. I've looked for them in ntoskernel.exe but no way. There's one that I thought it corresponded to one of those screens, but I've replaced it with reshack and it seems not to be there. Any idea where those images are and if they can be erased or replaced?

Wow !! I haven't hacked my 2K in quite a while, but I'm almost positive the images you're looking for are in the msgina.dll file.

I used a program called ResourceHacker to edit mine. If you don't have that, you can do a search on Google and probably find it, or I could send it if needed.

( Remember ... WFP !! ) Windows isn't going to allow you to replace or alter this file while running. But if you've already altered your ntoskrnl.exe, then you might be familiar with that. I think there's even a registry key that you can tweak to boot up with your new msgina file instead of the normal one. Like mine for instance, I named msbgina.dll, and instructed Windows to boot using that.

You can disable those banners via the registry.  I don't know the exact key but I will check it out tonite if I get a chance and get back to you in the morning.

Yes, I can edit msgina.dll with reshack and it contains those banners. I'll try to replace them with grey so as to make them invisible. I'll also change all desktop colors to grey in the registry. I think I'll get invisible booting this way.

grey?  why not black?  just curious....

btw pretty sure you can actually disable them, which is a better solution.  It might even increase your boot time.

Grey is the best color for monitor/tv's health. It's neutral. You might think that black is better because the phosphors don't have to work at all, but there's a problem: when you are switching to white or other bright colors (windows open), you are forcing your monitor. It's not a good idea to force contrasts very often from pure black to pure white, not only because it reduces the life of your monitor but because you may notice some image distortion (a problem called screen regulation).
