Fastening 25" television
« on: April 19, 2004, 08:49:06 pm »
I'm leaning towards building a Konami sidescrolling cabinet, like the ones used in The Simpsons, TMNT, etc.  I will be using a 25" television, because I will be playing console games as well.  The TV will be sitting on a more or less 45 degree angle, which of course brings up the issue of gravity.  What is the best (and cheapest) way to fasten it down so that it doesn't slide.  I will be leaving it in the case and just using a monitor shelf.  Any suggestions?

I was wondering if the way I stabalized a 13" TV would work for a 25" TV considering the differences in wait.  But what I did, was screw together two boards(so it looks like this _|), screwed them in at an angle, and put the TV on that way.  For a 13" TV it's pretty darn stable...but I don't know if it would hol dthe wait of a 25" one..

Howabout 2X4 boards fastened with double wide brackets ?
brackets = removable

brace the front, top, sides and back and you'll be impervious.

Dig it?
