That reminds me of the monorail in Ogdenville, or was it North Haverbrook?

It has always been my life long dream to be a monorail conductor.

Well, that's where we go a-ridin' into town, a whampin' and whompin' every livin' thing that moves within an inch of its life. Except the women folks, of course.

You got to be ******** me.  that is crazy as hell.  My wife would blow up if I wanted to build something like that.  An arcade machine is one thing but that is just too much.

He, he, I once suggested that I'd like to build a cart race track in my backyard. I just showed my wife this monorail and she immediately remembered that: "This is about as ridiculous as building your own cart track" (in slightly annoyed tone of voice)!

BTW, how about BYO livestock (sorry that's in dutch but I guess the pictures are clear enough)

Ahahahaha, that's awesome.  I mean yeah, it's one of the most impractical things I've ever seen, but that's what makes it so cool.

If anyone should understand that mindset, it's us.  I mean, it's not like we're devoting our lives to curing cancer here - we are spending time/money/talent on what I'm sure a lot of people see as being a "frivilous" hobby.

I think most here have this thought process;

'Hey, that thing looks cool'
Takes a closer look - ' I wonder how it works'
Look at how it's put together - 'Let's take this apart'
'ah, so that's how it works'
'how hard could it be?'
'I bet I could build one of those'
At this point a glazed look comes over the face as furious thoughts start flying.

Some stop here.

Some go on.

Research parts sources - 'hey, I can get those parts'
Inventory tools required - 'I've got the tools to build this'
Draw up plans - on 'paper' or in head 'just to see if I could do it'

Some stop here.  Most of my projects stop here. A few get built.

Some go on.

Order parts
Build cool thing
Bask in acomplishment
To wife - 'I told you I could build that'
Wife - 'that's nice dear, here's my divorce lawyers card'
