Monitor Mounting
« on: April 08, 2004, 05:27:10 pm »
Hello.  I hope that some of you guys can help me out.  I swear I did a forum search for monitor mounting, but maybe the search function is a little iffy because nothing came up...

I'd like to know how to mount a television in my cab.  The techniques I've seen (which use arcade monitors) involve using angle irons on the top and bottom of the front face of the CRT.  Is that safe with a TV?  With arcade monitors, I presume there's some kind of bracket for bolts.  But, with a TV, it's probably a different story, right?  Can someone point me in the right direction, maybe with a good example page?  Thanks for your time.

Most TVs sit in shelves in the cabinet.  Not many people use angle iron to mount TVs.

Yes, I understand, but I'd still like to do it this way.

I guess I misunderstood.  The only time I have seen TVs mounted the way you want, they were de-cased.   I think I recall a few treads about it.

I always use old cabs... when using an old cab there was/is an old mounting in the cab. in my mspacman i just decased the pc monitor and reounted it in the mspacman brackets..
in my virtua fighter i took the 25" tv out of its case and mounted it in the original arcade monitor brackets and bamm. done.. in moset cases I always take the monitor of choise out of its case and then mount. but if building from scratch i'd say whatever you think fits well and or looks good :)
