Are you talking about video of the games being played?

How large is that?  Must be quite a sizable set of files to have gameplay videos of every game from .71.  Very cool, I must say.

Bit Torrent would probably be the best way to transfer them. We did that with Paige's marquees, which are probably significantly smaller than your videos (~200 MB). But how large are we talking about?  1 Gig?  10 Gigs?

Well, 2500-ish non-clone games * 1 MB video for each = about 2.5 Gig minimum, and they probably don't compress too easily either.

Bittorrent or Edonkey/Overnet would be the best way to go.  An ed2k link would not require a seeding server to be up forever (Like BT), but depending on people's views of File sharing networks may suffer in the popularity area (even though this is a great example of a good use of said networks).

Shieldwolf,

So bottom line, is there ANY way to get those videos for MAME through 0.71?  I would really like to have that collection somehow, even to have them burned onto DVD or something if download is impossible.  BTW, what file type are they?
I hope someone figures out a way to make these available for download soon.

I too am interested in getting these vids. I might be able to host them. I probably have a spare 70 - 100 GB of bandwidth I might be able to spare per month.

I can give you FTP access to upload or we can work something else out.

Thanks,

Goz

Um... Boy do I feel like an ass. I seem to have misplaced the files while transfering to a new version of Mame. When I find them I will gladly set them up for someone to ftp.

Sorry for getting everyone's hopes up.
