monitor bezel cuts off bottom of screen - help please!
« on: April 06, 2004, 12:33:33 am »
I have a Panasync e70i 17" which I plan to use in my cocktail cab. I put it oriented vertically in a milk crate last night and fired up Ms. Pacman so I could see how it looked. It was then I noticed the problem.

When playing, with the monitor ~100mm lower than it will be in the cabinet I couldn't see the bottom line of graphics on the screen (lives left, fruits collected) as the bezel comes out almost vertically from the screen.

I can take the back casing off, but the bezel is attached to the monitors circuit board so I can't really remove it, as there's then nowhere to mount the board.

Aside from making the H&V-size (quite a lot) smaller, how can I fix this? duct tape the board to the tube and replace the bezel with a homemade one from card that slopes gently? It's only going to get worse when I raise it to it's final height, and then stick it underneath the 18mm top panel.

Has anyone used a PC monitor in a cocktail before and had this problem? And then found a solution?
