Just for Fun...Light Switch Plate Covers
« on: April 03, 2004, 10:55:24 pm »
It's not rocket science.  I've mentioned on the board before that my girlfriend will buy me anything with Pac Man on it...when she saw Pac Man Light switch covers on ebay, she asked me if I wanted them, I told her If I wanted them I'd make them myself!  Anyway, I made some myself and thought I'd share my template and some examples.

Like I said, it's not rocket Science..but we all have lights in our game rooms, right?  So...i thought it'd be cool.

BTW, these should fit the clear covers you get at Lowes, the ones at home Depot are taller for some reason.  (ManufacPart # 64614)  I can't find a link to it on Lowe's site..but They had them at my store, made by Brainerd (on the back it says libertyhardware.com)

DOH! Why didn't I think of that!

Great idea, very easy to make...could even print on PC using photo paper. the clear covers would protect the finish...

Here are some installed pictures.  Unfortuantly the white block I used it just a SMIDGE too big.  Not enough for me to feel like I need to re-print them but just something you should be aware of.

You can see on the Donkey Kong one what I'm talking about where the white is a little bigger than what needs to be cut out.

Also, the edge wraps around, so only half the Pac Man Power Pellets are visable.  Everything else is on the sides.  I think they look awesome.   :)

Dude--you are an inspiration to us all!! ;D  First with the pacman pancakes (which I'm still in shock that I haven't done) and now this.  You can tell your girlfriend she also rocks! (I'm sure that won't mean much to her from a guy from "the board" from another country but what the hell 8))
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...
