New Matching CP overlay
« on: March 24, 2004, 01:54:56 am »
I think this is the final CP overlay I'm going to use on my mini mame (24" wide cp). The left three buttons represent admin functions. I don't need to explain the rest, do I? Obviously I'll have to reconfigure the layout, but that's not a big deal. I don't need 2P anyway. I'm considering giving this to my brother as a gift. He's always wanted an arcade.

I'm going to print it out tomorrow on a plotter, laminate it and sample it to my cabinet. I'll post pics then.

I like the way the words are connected, looks great.

A couple of things:

Why not add a third triangle to the left so all three buttons have their own triangle? It would math the right side better.

The top looks blank. Do you have a name for the cab or some artwork to add in there?

How about adding in the other colors (blue and yellow) from the brand names...

Just some thoughts.

I thought about adding three triangles on the left but I decided I wanted a symmetrical look. I tried to line the pushbuttons up to accomodate that feature.
As for the top, I had large spot of text that read "McClain's Arcade" but I opted to take it off. I'm not exactly sure why... Maybe I'm lazy? Once I actually attach the overlay there won't be much shown on the topside of the print. I made it that large as a safety measure in case my bezel doesn't line up as I anticipated. But yeah, it probably would look better.
