ArcadeFX Setup
« on: March 22, 2004, 12:41:20 pm »
I have been trying to configure this software and I am a bit confused. The documentation says that it runs with mame32 but every time I go to load a game, the software prompts me to locate my mame.exe. (Not mame32.exe). Any thoughts.

Rename the executable to mame.exe instead of mame32.exe. It will fix the problem.

I wouldn't spend to much time on it.

It hasn't been updated in ages.  And it uses a database that I dont' believe there is an easy / automatic way to update...

Yeah, it seems like the author bailed on it.

It did look very promising, as well as his/her jukebox proggy.

Yeah ed just disappeared. I still currently use ArcadeFX, I've used it now for probably 2 years. It does everything I need it to do. I pretty much only use mame as those are the games most people want to play anyways. If I get on a kick to play space ace or something I will usually just fire that off manually. I have the database up to I believe .74. It's not that big of a hassle to update if you know access. I'll probably keep using it until the next version of DK comes out with all the bells and whistles, then all get off my lazy keister and do something different with my arcade.
