Marquee Improvements
« on: March 15, 2004, 06:13:00 pm »
I've started work on what I hope to use as my marquee. Firstly a big thankyou to everyone who has had anything to do with any of the vector libraries. Its invaluable to the artisticly-challenged among us...

The cab is entirely black so that's the story behind the title. I've been trying to keep the cab as clean and uncomplicated as possible - black joys, black buttons, no sideart or CP art - and wanted to keep the marquee relatively uncluttered and simple as well.

The monitor is going to go in vertically so all the character graphics are from vertical games that will be installed on the cab.

Any ideas/suggestions on what might make it better would be appreciated. I've seen some great improvements in some of the marquees posted here, so hopefully mine can do the same.

Thanks guys.

I think it looks great. How about a yellow glow around the lettering to bring it out a little more.

I think the large amount of characters and their various scaling detracts from the marquee.  I'd get rid of all of the characters except donkey kong and Pacman.  Then I would increase the font size of the title.   I'd consider removing the mame logo as well.  (I wish I had never printed it anywhere on my cab because no one knows what it is.)  Other than that It looks pretty good.

Good luck!
