Joytech PS2 controllers, any good for hacking?

Hi everyone,
A shop near me is selling Joytech PS2 controllers very cheaply. I'm wondering whether anyone around here has tried hacking them, and if so how easy was it? Do the buttons share a common ground?
Thanks in advance.
