AMD64 bit/mame32 lost sound????

hey ya'll

 So im using this amd 64bit pc with a 3200 and a gig of memory. now the prob is ive tried 3 differant versions of mame32 and they all kill my sound after a little bit or so... and then I have to reboot to get it back.. i mena wtf is causeing this???

 is there not a good compile for this yet? is there a generic version that works fine??

Have you tried it just using command line mame? There are issues with mame32 it seems causing various problems.

When the sound dies..  quit mame.. run control panel - sounds.. and test any of the system sounds.

see if the problem is mame or windows.  I don't believe that mame CAN do anything to destroy the entire sound system.  I'm guessing its a bad sound card or driver.
