My New Project Cab
« on: March 14, 2004, 06:37:56 pm »
Here is a shot of my new old cabinet.  Looks like it was originally a Double Dragon unit that someone converted to a Street Fighter II Championship Edition.  I cleaned it up today and next I'll sand it a bit and throw a new coat of glossy black on it.  I just ordered all of the replacement controls and switches as I want all new.  Check out the link below to my gallery that I will be updating as I do more work.

Looks like your cab is in great shape.

Any plans on the artwork or color scheme?

Well I'm going to paint it a glossy black for sure.  And I haven't decided on Artwork yet.  I thought about some of the MAME side art and marquees I've seen out there.  But this one came with the Street Fighter II bezzle, marquee, and control deck, so I thought about picking up some SF2 side art.

Right now it will definalty be black until I can decide.

Did a bunch of work this weekend.  I got the monitor mounted in and the control panel rebuilt.  Just waiting for the marquee and new t-molding to come now.  I'll be working on a new monitor bezel this week.  It was playtested for many hours this weekend to test for proper functionality.  ;D

I screwed up the monitor bezel on the first try so I made a temporary one until I can try my hand at it again.  I put on the red t-molding this weekend and added in the marquee.   We had a little BBQ action Saturday night and my cab was well tested for proper functionality.

That is by far the slickest looking cabinet I've seen yet. I want to marry it and such.

Please give me permission.  ;D

Cool call on the red t-molding.  Colored t-molding really adds a nice accent to the cabinet, doesn't it?  At the last minute I decided on dark blue instead of black, and MAN, does it make a difference.

So how many "OOOOH, CAN YOU MAKE ME ONE TOO?" requests did you have at the BBQ?  ;)

Nice cab, I just finished planing and soon will start working on my cab, I did a mini cab (3/4) with just one controller and a modular ( connects via cable). I used red Tmolding and May also use it on the main Cab.  I will be building from scratch, but I wish i could find a use cab at a cheap price.  :)
