Mamewah pc games
« on: March 11, 2004, 11:26:11 pm »
1.  I've set the exe to "PC"
2.  set the correct rom path.
3.  put a batch file with the lnk extension in the rom path dir.

I get a subscript 9 error when I try to refresh the rom list.

Any ideas?

If I look at the file using oscars renamer I see it is named "wolf3d.lnk.pif"  I renamed it to just "wolf3d.lnk" but it will no longer launch manually but now mamewah sees it. and I don't get the subscript 9 error.

Is this a windows xp problem?

The .PIF means that it is a DOS program...Unfortunately MAMEWAH doesn't seem to like DOS programs (it must have .LNK extension as you've found)...

You could probably make a batch file to launch the file, and then set the ROM Extension to 'BAT' and see if that works...

have got the same problem in xp with mamewah.
When i set it to bat and write batch files i get the error.
I don't have this with lnk files.
What i did was to make a bat file and then create a shortcut to it.
This has the extension lnk so mamewah sees it and the lnk file
launches the batch file...
Great fe, thanks.

Good idea, that's the best way around it for now...
