so i continuously find myself coming up with mad/pointless projects and here is my latest Portona. I've spent the last 2 months slowly reverse engineering daytona usa and porting it to C++ Progress is slow but here is a quick video of the progress

I'd love to here some community ideas on where to take the project, one idea is having two instances running on a raspberry pi using one HDMI port per machine

Cool project. Hmmm, i'd like to see higher rendering scales, while keeping the ability to run at desired video modes, having all video modes run at full speed, and keeping LAN but having fallback to single player on a timeout if the link isn't found. This is probably just me though, i'm running 15kHz CRT displays on a Win10-based LAN setup :D Too many old games lock to vsync, with no easy way to disable it.

There have been a few recomp projects and PC ports recently though, so taking a look at those, or perhaps posting up on a FB/Discord group like Retro Racing Luantics, will get you answers from a wider demographic.

EDIT: Ah, was this what your control tower request was about? Did you find one, or were you able to read what you needed?

Hey buttersoft,

Thanks some great ideas, i hadn't thought of link timeout support.

Sadly i havn't found any information on the control tower yet, my plan was to build a software copy to control networks machines

Hmm, you could try reaching out to SailorSat about the control tower? If anyone knows about it, it would be her.
