Sound issue with titles using YM3526 audio chip
« on: August 12, 2025, 08:53:59 pm »
Anyone else missing the audio for titles using the YM3526 audio chip?  I'm using 0.250 (per the "How to make a dedicated MAME 0.250 Appliance on a Raspberry Pi 4/Pi 400" thread) and the sound is missing entirely on my RPi4b but is just fine on my pc - same ROM.zip, both devices using MAME 0.250.

Tried:
amazon.zip = Soldier Girl Amazon
armedf.zip = Armed F (Japan)
dangar.zip = Ufo Robo Dangar (4/09/1987)
terracre.zip = Terra Cresta (YM3526 set 1)
terraf.zip = Terra Force

Not sure what other titles use this audio chip, but after extensive trial and error I've reduced it to this being the apparent common denominator / likely cause for not having sound.

[edit] Was using 0.250 on pi and PC!  (Also tried 0.258 on the PC with same result = has sound)
