  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hi everyone,

I'm opening this Topic to kindly ask your support about some problems I'm encountering with CRT EmuDrivers and GroovyMAME.
Here is my current hardware configuration:

Intel Core i7 10700K
RAM 32GB DDR4
MB MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge
Asus Strix AMD R9 380X OC 4GB

And this is the software configuration:

Windows 10 Pro updated to August 2025
CRT EmuDrivers 2.0 beta 15 18.5.1
GroovyMAME 0.277 with full verified romset

My AMD GPU is connected via DVI-I-to-VGA cable adapter to the VGA input of my Arcade CRT Monitor: WeiYa MS3129 TriSync
I've configured CRT EmuDrivers and installed Super Resolution Modelines following this guide: https://geedorah.com/eiusdemmodi/forum/viewtopic.php?id=301
Here you can find some screenshots attached about my configuration.
Now let's go to some questions.

1) When I launch Mortal Kombat on GroovyMAME, or any other Midway game such as Mortal Kombat II, Mortal Kombat 3 and so on, I'm obtaining a strange weird refresh effect. Basically, the entire screen scrolls up continuosly from the bottom and never stops. I'm attaching here some photos taken from my phone to let you understand my problem. Have you any idea on how to solve this problem?

I'm continuing on the next Post in order to attach more pictures to describe other problems/questions.

Thanks a lot.

Continuing from previous Post.

2) When I launch any NeoGeo Game on GroovyMAME it looks like there are too many invasive Scanlines on the picture. Maybe it's a problem of my visual perception, many years have passed since last time I've seen a NeoGeo real arcade cabinet. By the way, I'm attaching here a couple of photos taken from the startup screen and in game section of World Heroes 2. Please, let me know if you are noticing something strange or not.

3) I'm launching some Model 3 Games using SuperModel Emulator and setting it to Model 3 native resolution (496*384) and True Hertz (57.524160). Games are starting fine on my Arcade CRT Monitor, unfortunately they are running into a portrait with huge black borders despite the Fullscreen and Borderless options checked. I've attached here a photo taken from Virtua Fighter 3 running on my CRT. Have you any idea on how to get fullscreen while preserving original Model 3 resolution and True Hertz Refresh rate with CRT EmuDrivers?

Finally, I'm attaching here my MAME.INI file (renamed in .txt extension due to forum attachment rules) in case you need to inspect it for any wrong setting.

Thanks a lot everybody in advance!

Quick update on my discussion Thread.

I was able to fix the Mortal Kombat and Midway games problem by rotating the V-HOLD Trimmer of my WeiYa Arcade CRT TriSync Monitor!
The screen is now perfectly stable and the game is finally playable!!

Thanks a lot everybody!
Please, if you can give me an advice about other questions posted here before, it would be really appreciated!

Thank you once again!
