Merit Megatouch XL6000 hard drive issue
« on: July 28, 2025, 03:12:07 pm »
Hi

I'm a real newbie with this...I picked up a Merit Megatouch XL6000 machine that only displays solitaire games. I was told that the hard drive causes this, I had my son clone it but the results are the same. Is there something else that needs to be done to get it going?  Thanks!!

XL 6000 is CD based so assuming it's been updated to a newer version. Anyway it's likely the nvram has been corrupted so try a two button clear

Thank you for your reply!  I tried the 2 button clear (I think the 2 buttons are the ones labeled set-up and calibration) but I get 2 Invalid drive specification errors and a Bad command or filename D:\> error. This is with a new hard drive - if I put the old one back in I get to the solitaire stuff.  Please help!!! :dizzy:

Do the clear with the old drive

Thank you again, I will. Just to be sure do I do this with the power off or on?
