Can I make a hit song on the C64?

I know, let's convert the Commodore Music Maker into a sexy red thing with LED and potentiometers, then use it to record a brand new SID powered track!

Video: Reduce SID chip noise in 5 minutes
« Reply #5 on: March 21, 2018, 02:07:25 am »
Everyone loves the Commodore 64 SID Chip, but it could be a little less noisy & buzzy couldn't it? There is a supposedly simple fix! But can I do it in 5 minutes?!?

Removing t-moulding from MDF cab
Somewhat of a random question but is there anything I need to worry about if removing t-moulding from an MDF cab?

I've changed my mind on the colour but don't want to rip it out if it's going to widen the hole and make the new colour not stick...

Cheers

Extending wiring harness
I have a wiring harness (from Ultimarc if it matters), that connects into the ipac ultimate

However I don't quite have enough length to reach to the P1 joystick...

What's the best way to extend?
- is splicing the wire to make it longer going to lead to me getting latency or anything
- can I just cut and 'twist' in an extra bit of wire
- Is there an extension connector I can buy easily (I don't have a crimper etc)

Thanks

I imagine this might exist somewhere, but sure am failing to find it...

I have LED buttons on my CP and my goal is to get the relevant buttons lighting up for each game in MAME

Is there an easy (ish) way to do this without going through every game independently??

First, draw it out in Sketchup...

Cut the wood...

Paint the pieces...

Screw 'em together...

Stand it all up...

Slap a dartboard on it and play!

Premium microswitches
« Reply #13 on: August 19, 2018, 03:36:09 pm »
I'm in the UK.

I'd like to replace all my microswitches with something premium. I'm having some control issues with what I suspect are cheap switches.
If I'm taking my cp out which is a mammoth task I may as well just replace them all.

Can anybody recommend a premium switch. That's available in the UK...

Thanks

Using Hyperspin / Rocket Launcher and mame

Deco cassette CP source? Redo? Scrap?
« Reply #17 on: September 16, 2018, 02:57:10 pm »
I've got this metal covering for The Deco cassette system, and I'm redoing the machine. I'd like to find a source for a new one of these. It feels like and extremely thin piece of aluminum. I looked through the usual websites (thisoldgame, game on grafix) and haven't found anyone that sells a Repro. Does anyone know where one might be located?

Sorry for the large image size, I'll fix it when I'm at my computer.

For some reason, my pictures aren't uploading. So here is a link to one I found on Google. I have the main body of the control panel, I'm just looking for that rectangular silver piece. The one I have on there now is quite corroded.

I'm planning a small MAME project that will have three interchangeable control panels for different kinds of games. I'm looking for a simple way to attach and detach them to swap them out. Any thoughts?

I was browsing the Tubi TV app and noticed that they have Starcade (arcade gameshow from the 80's).

I don't recall ever seeing it as a kid.  Might be cool to have playing in your game room or workshop.
