Running MAME.  HDMI to VGA out of my laptop.  View Sonic 20G.  My question is how do I make the scanlines pop?  Is there a way display 240p in windows with an Nvidia GPU?

Also getting the error "switchres could not find a video mode that matches your specs".

Looks like I just need to set the correct Monitor type.  I have a PC CRT.  Tried lcd on the ini and the error message went away however that created game slowdown.   There a list of monitor types for the Groovy Mame ini?

Found the monitor presets and not sure which one I should use.    My CRT is 31khz and up is all I know.

Now I have more problems.   See the pic attached.  See where the trees look split?  That's a line that sort of scans from the top of the screen to the bottom.  Some sort or refresh issue?

Also the music in all games started slowing down.  I fixed this by disabling autosync.  I read in an old post not to do this.  Have things changed since then?

Thank you in advance!

Tried Groovy Mame on my other laptop and it's doing the same thing.  Runs very jerky.  Tried Stock Mame (not Groovy Mame) just for giggles and it runs fine.  So my laptops don't like Groovy Mame.  Suggestions  for fixing Groovy Mame on my laptops?  Do you need a log file?

Log file is attached.

This is on a Dell Core i7 Laptop with a fresh format and installation of Groovy Mame. Left all options default in the ini.

Sure would appreciate some help.  Thanks!

You obviously have tearing. Nvidia is not the kind of recommended GPU. PC CRT monitors don't have "scanlines" the way you expect them since they run with a minimal of 480 lines for most of them, not 240

I've used Nvidia cards before and Groovy Mame ran just fine.  My other laptop is a solid gaming laptop with a 13th gen core i5 and RTX 4050.

I've tried Vsync for tearing and it doesn't make a difference.

And thank you confirming the 240p information.  I've been doing a lot of reading up on this and I'm slowly starting to understand how all this goes together.

Any other suggestions from all you gurus out there?

Thanks!

Put together a PC for Groovy Mame. Analog ATI card.  Arrives tomorrow morning!

To get what I'm after figured out I need arcade monitor.  That's the goal here before too long.  I'll settle with 480p gaming for now.
