car & home audio system on steroids 39" Dynamo Showcase cabinet project.

Still gathering the parts now and just waiting for everything to show up now before I dive into this crazy adventure next.

I promise it will be like no other when said and done and may be worth following this thread for showcase cab owners or QA for those that want a mean sounding system as I.

I went way overkill but this thing is going to look and sound amazing, I am already over the hill and skilled so it won't be no hack job trust me.

Sub when pic is scrolled to the right is a 4ohm 400w RMS 6.5" CT Audio Meso 😎

Very cool, DIY audio is my main hobby so this will be interesting to see. Oddly enough I was considering a sub in my bartop project and looking at cheap 6.5" drivers just this morning.

That particular one I got is a beast, Originally the idea was to use my corsair vx 550 ATX pay to power the car amp because it has more then enough amps on the 12v rail for most car amps.

It runs something like 54-58 amps

My sub is so mean I needed a mean amp and it's power hungry at 80amp draw so I decided to go with a 100amp power master RV AC/DC conveyer box.

Will be cleaner route but was also a $145 unexpected need in my estimates lol

But now the box just plugs into the wall and run the positive and negative terminals to the amp no different then the car and it's up and running.

Will post pics as I go along with the install.

Got the holes done and finishing up sanding them to be all purdy.

Next up will be making and adding two 1/8" or 1/4" Thick steel plates to mount in the monitor inner wall between the speaker racks and monitor.

The speakers are already shielded but going the extra mile to be sure since I have so many so close to the monitor.

So far so good and looking wild already lol

Sorry all, Kinda whipped right through it day by day and still am but close to being done.

Was thinking of redoing the control panel wiring.

My last service tags were 2004 so this thing rocked for 20 years with no issue and the control panel wires are the only thing aged aside the monitor and cab at this point.

Mids and tweets speaker install went great also stuffed the inside box with pillow guts so it don't have a hallow sound running so many in a single box.

Only gripe is now the stock speakers are not as pretty looking as my ad in's lol.

Then I took chicken noodle soup cans and green bean cans and stripped the labels off, washed with dish soap then spray painted satin black.

Chicken noodle cans barely cleared the magnet and was tacked down at 3 points with hot glue to the speaker chassis arm deals.

Then layered the green bean cans over the soup cans which just happen to be the same size as my speaker bore hole size, just duct taped them.

Now when I put them right up on one another I feel no pulling at all so I am pretty sure they all shielded proper now.

Amp is a kenwood XR900-5 5 channel 75rms 4ohm at 4 channels and 600rms for the sub at 2ohm.

Way way overkill for any basic arcade machine but I got a great deal on it.

Has a built in crossover but also added in a external SKAR SKEC23 3 way digital crossover box with sub control knob.

Mounted the sub knob under the right side of the control panel but on the inside of the control panel.

I drilled a standard button hole and then mounted the knob assembly to a small block of mdf and then mounted it and the knob to the control panel so the knob is now inside the button hole where it can't be bumped but still turn on the fly.

Because that sub is going to be soooo angry more then likely I will cut out the side walls of some old automobile tires and cut them into square sheets to bolt to each the control panel base and the main cabinet base where they butt up and meet together so no vibration is getting to the main cab.

Only thing in the control panel is wires soon that sub buttons cherri switch ipac4 trackball and spinner.

Only concern is the trackball wanting to drift on its own from the subs power but may just line the inside of the control panel bottom with a thick layer or rubber also.

Probably out of a solid one piece instead of car tire route if it's even a issue.

These are the armor I mean shielding plates I made out of bare metal shelve racks to be 1/4" Thick steel.

I bolted these inside the monitor area of the cab right onto the outside wall of where all the mids and tweets would run along it.

All my speakers are shielded stock mids and tweets and went the extra mile adding this in to ensure it don't mess with my screen color.

Unshielded there is no way one could pull this off with a crt that close to that many.

LCD your fine but this beast still rocks the 39" wells gardner k7600 😎

Cheers!!
