Mamewah-How to exit Emulators??
« on: March 04, 2004, 08:07:34 pm »
Hi,
I have been using mamewah and it works great. I was wondering if anyone could provide me a list of windows based emulators that has support to change the keys in the emulator like the exit keys etc... like mame. so it is easy to exit the emu back to Mamewah. I have mame and nes working so far.

If that doesnt work like there is not an emu for a certain system that supports this feature how can I have an emulator exit when I hit say the C key. By exit i mean the emulalor turns off and returns to MAMEWAH screen? Just looking for an easy way..I am no brainer a newbie.no clue so any links or info u have done is all helpful.

Thanks in advance.
Jim

Demon as long as I've been supporting you I'm rather ashamed that you asked this question.  The solution is to use my wrappers.  They now work with all emus I've tested them on.  (Which is a LOT)

Great thanks. I was not aware of that I will try it, but how does one point Mamewah to the wrapper?

Howard are u still making DK? any new version?

Probably the same way as in DK - point the FE to the wrapper instead of the emulator executable.

Howard released a new version of DK pretty recently I believe - check his site www.oscarcontrols.com/lazarus

Eh Howard-
Would any of your wrappers work with winamp+visualization?

Im using a full screen vis, so what it would need to send is an [esc] to exit the vis, and then a alt+f4 to exit winamp *OR* to just outright kill winamp, and that would also kill the vis

Im headed to your site now to poke around

I beleive it is possible, but I haven't tried it yet.... using the automatic setting should work as it'll altf4 the vis window, check for parent apps and kill them with a post message.  How exactly are you luanching winamp?  Sending a playlist to it?

Hi
Ok I have tried them.. I am confused how to use them in Mamewah.. hehe I forget all together I tried with MEKAW and got it working but the exit key doesnt work. it used ESC I want to use C key like I have set in MAME, NES EMU and MAMEWAH. Maybe someone can help? Would like ppl to post configs so I can grasp this!

i unzipped the wrapper to d:\mastersystem\ which contains the emu etc.

in the lconfig.ini i only changed exe to mekaw.exe and in the cmd section earased the zinc stuff.

I renamed Zinc.cfg to mekaw.cfg and added the correct lines..but when i run emu it runs loads mekaw in full screen doesnt show gui but on ESC exits not C. Not every time but usually when i go back to mastersystem dir the mekaw.cfg is changed to the default made by the emu and the entries ie_ type .sms is gone? dows the cfg file have to be same as emu name?
